Montreal waterfront area gets a billion-dollar transformation

by Alicia Cox Thomson

Plans have been released to transform the area surrounding Montreal’s former Molson Brewery – from the Old Port to the Jacques Cartier Bridge – into a mixed-use neighbourhood that combines life, work and play.

With its heritage buildings and cobbled streets, Montreal’s picturesque Old Port is destined to become the gateway to a new waterfront neighbourhood.

Announced in December, Quartier Molson – the nearly six-million-square-foot mixed-use residential and commercial enclave – will be built on the site of the former Molson Brewery, transforming the area between Montreal’s Old Port and the Jacques Cartier Bridge.
