Remax names Alex Vidal president following Real acquisition deal

Remax has named real estate industry veteran Alex Vidal as president, putting him in charge of the brand weeks after the creation of Real Remax Group.

Vidal brings 29 years of real estate experience to the position, Remax said in a Sept. 1 press release, and most recently served as president of ERA Real Estate, which has 40,000 agents worldwide. 

Nearly three decades in real estate

Vidal began his real estate career at 19 as secretary to the president of Keyes Real Estate.

Since then, he has held roles including recruiting director, sales manager, sales coach and sales executive at companies including Coldwell Banker Realty, ERA Real Estate, Prudential Real Estate and Keyes, the release says.

In 2004, Vidal created TheCloserClub, a coaching program for real estate agents. According to the release, he has since coached more than 30,000 real estate professionals.

Focus on agents and broker-owners

“I’ve spent my career working alongside agents and broker/owners, understanding their businesses and helping them reach levels they may not have thought possible,” Vidal said in the release.

As president, Vidal will lead the Remax brand and work with its global affiliate network. His responsibilities will include driving growth, developing services for broker-owners and agents and helping shape the brand’s long-term strategy.

He will report to Real Remax Group chairman and CEO Tamir Poleg.

“Alex understands this business from the ground up and has spent his career helping agents, broker/owners and organizations reach the next level of what’s possible,” Poleg said.

Appointment follows Real-Remax transaction

Vidal’s appointment follows the Aug. 24 closing of the transaction that created Real Remax Group.

He joins other recently appointed leaders, including Real Remax Group president Jenna Rozenblat and chief operating officer Amy Somerville.

Vidal said the new structure creates an opportunity to combine Remax’s network with technology aimed at helping agents operate more efficiently.

“We’re going to move with purpose, and I’m ready to remind the industry exactly what Remax brings to real estate,” he said.
