The future of Royal LePage® Commercial™: Built to last, positioned to grow

by Royal LePage

Building on a 70-year legacy as an industry leader, Royal LePage Commercial is entering its next phase of growth. The business is investing aggressively in talent, technology and infrastructure to support its national network of 650 commercial brokerage practitioners.

Today, Royal LePage Commercial offers a collaborative ecosystem designed to accelerate entrepreneurial success. Moving away from legacy commercial models where heavy overhead and steep corporate cuts favour the house, our transparent, agent-focused commission structure allows top producers to retain more of their revenue and future-proof their businesses.

What we’ve accomplished in the first half of 2026

For those who have been paying attention, the momentum is hard to miss.

For starters, demand for the 2026 Royal LePage Commercial Summit – a dedicated two-day national commercial conference taking place within Royal LePage’s National Sales Conference – was unprecedented, with available tickets selling out in just three minutes. The overwhelming response prompted an immediate expansion to more than double the event’s original capacity, reinforcing the powerful momentum building across the network.

Behind the scenes, the structural work has matched that enthusiasm. Year to date, Royal LePage Commercial has:

  • Launched the National Commercial Advisory Council (NCAC): A first-of-its-kind advisory body bringing together senior commercial practitioners from various regions and areas of expertise across the country, to help shape the direction of the practice at the national level.
  • Published the 2026 Royal LePage Commercial Real Estate Report: A comprehensive national research publication, providing data-rich analysis and on-the-ground insights from Royal LePage Commercial experts in major Canadian markets and across commercial asset classes; produced internally and distributed across the network, within the industry and to consumer media.
  • Introduced a dedicated commercial training series: Led by industry veteran, Georges Renaud, the series builds a structured, professional development pathway for Royal LePage experts to deepen their knowledge of commercial real estate.
  • Fully revamped intranet for commercial practitioners (internal platform): Centralizing tools, resources and updates in one convenient and cohesive platform, built specifically with the workflows and needs of commercial practitioners in mind.
  • Launched the 2026 Royal LePage Commercial Summit: Bringing together commercial professionals from across the country for dedicated peer sharing, commercial programming, market discussions, and referral-building within the broader Royal LePage network.

Together, these initiatives reflect a continued investment in strengthening the Royal LePage Commercial Division as the leading national platform for commercial real estate professionals in Canada.

Where we’re headed

It’s been a busy and exciting first half of the year. And, we’re just getting started… The next phase is about one thing: quality.

Royal LePage Commercial is investing in education, mentorship, marketing resources, deal support, and industry-leading technologies that help practitioners elevate and grow their businesses across every dimension of the sector. The Royal LePage Commercial Division is helping professionals develop their market knowledge and expertise, and deliver the elite service their clients deserve.

“This new direction is about supporting independent practitioners with the brand power, network support, and resources needed to grow their own commercial business in every Canadian market,” said Matthew Zigelstein, Manager, Royal LePage Commercial Division. “The focus is on building clear development pathways, structured mentorship, and a consistent standard for what it means to be part of the Royal LePage Commercial brand. Building on the success of the platform, we’re taking a strong national network and creating a more connected, visible and strategically aligned commercial division.”

Central to this evolution is a deliberate growth strategy focused on attracting and retaining high-quality professionals through multiple avenues. This includes expanding the footprint of standalone commercial brokerages, building on the success of the three currently in operation: Royal LePage Commercial Westhaven in Toronto, Royal LePage Commercial East in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, and Royal LePage APM Commercial on Prince Edward Island. The new strategy will ensure these standalone operations, as well as practitioners operating within our franchise and corporately-owned brokerages, have the support they need at the national level to thrive and provide high-quality service to their clients.

“Royal LePage Commercial has always held a leadership position in Canadian commercial real estate, and we intend to keep raising the bar,” said Phil Soper, President and CEO of Royal LePage. “We are modernizing and strengthening our platform by investing heavily in specialized education, national collaboration, and practical, AI-driven tools that help entrepreneurial professionals build lasting businesses.

“Crucially, we are breaking away from traditional, house-heavy commercial operating models. We have built an environment that shifts equity back to the practitioner, rewarding client service and true entrepreneurship. This is a platform explicitly designed for where the industry is going next.”

This is a business built for those who are serious about commercial real estate. The goal is simple: when a client, colleague or counterpart engages with someone from Royal LePage Commercial, they understand the excellence and professionalism they can expect. In close collaboration with the National Commercial Advisory Council, the new direction of the division will be driven by practitioner-led insights and in-field experiences of our professionals operating across Canada.

Additional details on Royal LePage Commercial’s development framework will be shared with the network and industry as these initiatives continue to roll out. For more information, visit royallepagecommercial.com/join-us/
